Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

Advanced Skin Rejuvenation & Renewal

Fractional CO₂ Laser Skin Resurfacing is an ablative skin treatment that creates controlled microscopic treatment zones. It is intended to support improvement in selected texture, scarring and photoageing concerns following a full suitability assessment.

Potential treatment concerns include fine lines, acne scarring, selected pigmentation concerns, pore visibility and uneven texture. Response varies, and complete correction or a specific degree of improvement cannot be guaranteed.

The treatment creates controlled micro-columns in the skin. Healing and remodelling occur over time, but timescales and visible outcomes vary between clients.

Every treatment follows consultation, medical and skin-history review, patch testing where required, informed consent, individual settings, eye protection and written aftercare.

Treatment Benefits

Potential benefits may include improvement in selected fine lines, acne scarring, pore visibility, uneven texture and some pigmentation concerns. Suitability and likely response depend on skin type, concern, treatment depth and healing response. Results vary and cannot be guaranteed.

Treatment Areas

Fractional CO2 Laser may be used on areas including:

• Face
• Neck
• Décolletage
• Around the eyes
• Acne scar areas
• Stretch mark areas

What To Expect

A full consultation, medical and skin-history review, informed consent and patch testing where required are completed before treatment. Pre-treatment preparation may be advised for selected clients.

During treatment, the laser creates controlled microscopic treatment zones at settings selected for the agreed concern and treatment area.

Expected effects can include marked redness, heat, swelling, tenderness, oozing, crusting, dryness, peeling and temporary darkening. Recovery may be more noticeable than with non-ablative treatments.

Downtime varies depending on treatment intensity and individual skin response.

A course may be discussed depending on the concern and individual response. More treatment does not guarantee a particular result.

Downtime & Aftercare

Follow the written cleansing, moisturising and wound-care instructions exactly. Use suitable broad-spectrum SPF and avoid direct sun, heat, strenuous exercise, swimming, active skincare and picking until advised. Possible complications include prolonged redness, infection, cold-sore reactivation, acne or milia flare, delayed healing, burns, pigment change, visible demarcation and scarring. Seek prompt advice for worsening pain, spreading redness, pus, fever, extensive blistering, unexpected colour change or eye symptoms.

Contraindications

This treatment may not be suitable for clients who are:

• Pregnant or breastfeeding
• Using Roaccutane or recent isotretinoin medication
• Experiencing active infection, inflammation or cold sores
• Prone to keloid scarring
• Experiencing certain skin disorders
• Undergoing cancer treatment
• Taking certain medications affecting healing
• Under 18 years of age

This list is not exhaustive. All medicines, medical conditions, allergies, cold-sore history, healing or scarring problems, recent procedures, tanning and sun exposure must be disclosed. Treatment may be declined, modified or postponed where safe suitability cannot be confirmed.

Consultation Required

Every skin journey is unique. Consultation is required to confirm the concern, treatment area, expected downtime, alternatives, limitations and realistic goals.

Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing – FAQs

How does Fractional CO₂ Laser work? The laser creates controlled microscopic treatment zones. Healing and remodelling occur over time, but visible response varies.

What skin concerns can Fractional CO2 treat?
This treatment can improve:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Acne scarring

  • Sun damage

  • Pigmentation

  • Enlarged pores

  • Uneven skin texture

  • Loose or ageing skin

Is Fractional CO₂ Laser painful? Discomfort varies and may include marked heat, stinging or prickling. Any topical anaesthetic must be suitable, authorised and used according to clinic protocol.

How long is recovery? Visible healing commonly takes several days or longer depending on treatment depth, area and individual response. Redness can persist beyond the initial peeling stage.

How many sessions will I need? The number depends on the concern, treatment depth, healing and response. Improvement after one session or a particular course length cannot be guaranteed.

When will I see results? Early changes may become visible after surface healing, while remodelling may continue over later months. Results and timescales vary.

Is Fractional CO₂ suitable for every skin type? No. Skin type, pigmentation risk, medical history, medicines and healing factors require individual assessment and may make treatment unsuitable.

What should I avoid after treatment?
Avoid:

  • Sun exposure

  • Heat treatments and saunas

  • Swimming

  • Active skincare ingredients

  • Picking or exfoliating the skin

Follow all written aftercare carefully to support healing and reduce avoidable risk. Contact the clinic promptly about severe, worsening or unexpected symptoms.

Can Fractional CO₂ be combined with other treatments? Possibly, but only after individual assessment of compatibility, timing, infection risk and recovery. Combination treatment is not automatically suitable.

How long do results last? No duration or outcome is guaranteed. Skin continues to change with ageing, sun exposure, health, lifestyle and skincare.
