A Carbon Laser Facial is a superficial laser treatment that uses a carbon lotion with appropriate laser settings. It is not fractional COâ‚‚ laser resurfacing and does not create the same depth of controlled injury or recovery.

Carbon Laser Facial

The Carbon Laser Facial is intended to exfoliate the skin surface and support the appearance of oiliness, congestion, dullness and uneven texture in suitable clients. Results vary and improvement cannot be guaranteed.

Sometimes called a “Hollywood Facial,” the treatment combines a topical carbon lotion with laser energy. The expected benefits, evidence, limitations and alternative treatments are discussed during consultation.

The carbon lotion is applied to clean skin and the laser is passed over the agreed area using settings selected after consultation and patch testing. Sensation may include warmth, tingling or light snapping.

Benefits of a Carbon Laser Facial:

Potential benefits may include surface exfoliation and support for the appearance of oiliness, congestion, dullness, pore visibility and uneven texture. Individual response varies, and the treatment does not diagnose or cure acne or other skin disease.

Suitability depends on skin type, medical history, medicines, current skin condition, recent sun exposure and the proposed device settings. Treatment may be unsuitable or postponed during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection, inflamed or damaged skin, recent tanning or sun exposure, certain medicines or medical conditions, or over tattoos and suspicious lesions. This list is not exhaustive. Most clients have limited downtime, but temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, dryness or mild swelling may occur.

Recommended Treatment Course:

A course may be discussed depending on the skin concern, response and device protocol. The number and spacing of sessions are agreed individually; results are not guaranteed.

Aftercare Advice:

Use suitable broad-spectrum SPF and avoid direct sun exposure, heat, vigorous exercise, swimming and active skincare for the advised period. Keep the skin hydrated and do not pick or scrub. Temporary redness, warmth, dryness, sensitivity or mild swelling may occur. Possible complications include blistering, burns, pigment change, infection, scarring or an inadequate response. Contact the clinic if symptoms are severe, worsening or unexpected.

Allow sufficient time before an important event because skin response is individual and temporary visible effects can occur.

Carbon Laser Facial FAQs

What is a Carbon Laser Facial?

A carbon lotion is applied to the skin and treated with suitable laser settings. The procedure is intended to provide superficial exfoliation and support the appearance of oiliness, congestion, dullness and texture.

Is a Carbon Laser Facial suitable for everyone?

No. Consultation and patch testing are required. Treatment may be declined or postponed because of skin condition, medicines, medical history, recent sun exposure, tanning or other risk factors.

How long does a Carbon Laser Facial take?

Appointment length varies with consultation requirements and the treatment area. Your expected appointment time will be confirmed when booking.

What recovery can I expect?

Most clients have limited downtime, but temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, dryness or mild swelling may occur. Follow the personalised aftercare and contact the clinic if symptoms are severe or worsening.

How many Carbon Laser Facials will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the skin concern, device protocol and individual response. A course may be recommended, but improvement cannot be guaranteed.

What concerns may a Carbon Facial support?

Potential benefits may include support for the appearance of oiliness, congestion, dullness, pore visibility and uneven surface texture. It is not a treatment for scars or deep resurfacing.

Why is consultation and patch testing required?

Consultation identifies skin concerns, contraindications and realistic goals. Patch testing helps assess the skin response before a full treatment, but it cannot eliminate all risk.

What does the treatment feel like?

Sensation varies and may include warmth, tingling or light snapping. Tell the practitioner immediately if discomfort feels excessive.

What are the risks of a Carbon Laser Facial?

Possible complications include blistering, burns, pigment change, infection, scarring or an inadequate response. Consultation, patch testing, eye protection and suitable settings reduce risk but cannot remove it.

How long do results last?

Results are not permanent or guaranteed. Skin condition continues to change with sun exposure, skincare, hormones, ageing and other individual factors.

What aftercare should I follow?

Use suitable SPF, avoid direct sun, heat, vigorous exercise, swimming and active skincare for the advised period, keep the skin hydrated and do not pick or scrub.

Is a Carbon Laser Facial painful?

Many clients tolerate the procedure, but sensation is individual and may include warmth, tingling or light snapping. Comfort cannot be guaranteed.

How long can redness last?

Temporary redness or sensitivity may settle quickly for some clients and last longer for others. Contact the clinic if it is severe, worsening, blistered or accompanied by unexpected symptoms.
